Site Roadmap

The term "site roadmap" refers to any and all written documents which tie together the other aspects of the information architecture: the blueprints, the wireframes, and the controlled thesaurus.

This site roadmap normally includes a narrative describing the interactions with the client, motivations for doing things a certain way, future concerns, and future web site plans.

Extensive notes are also included to the graphic designers, content developers, web developers, programmers, and database specialists. That way everyone understands the plan from the beginning and confusion is avoided in the early stages of the development process.
